Job summary

Maryland Oncology Hematology is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinicians in a clinical oncology setting. Under direct supervision, you will assist with patient care tasks, maintain schedules, and handle clerical duties to ensure smooth patient flow.

This entry-level role requires a high school diploma and a Medical Assistant certificate; BCLS certification within 3 months is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire; CMA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to and from exam rooms and treatment areas.
• Record vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtain necessary patient records prior to treatment.
• Prepare and stock exam/treatment rooms and order supplies.
• Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administer injections as delegated by RN or physician.
• Maintain room disinfection and hygiene protocols.
• Answer calls and route referrals to physician or nurse/pharmacist.
• Process prescriptions and relay patient information as directed.
