Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant course from an accredited school.
• Current BCLS with AED certificates.
• 1 year experience in medical clinic, hospital or SNF.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical documentation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Comfort with Electronic Medical Record software (training provided).
• Bi-lingual Spanish/English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in assessment and examination of patients.
• Record patient subjective information.
• Enter data into the BHCEMR system.
• Check on patient welfare until physician begins examination.
• Assist physician with patient forms.
• Inspect exam and stock rooms; ensure supplies.
• Travel to other office locations as needed.
• Take on additional responsibilities as appropriate.
