Job summary

Power Personnel is seeking a patient-focused Medical Assistant in Palo Alto, CA. This role supports both patients and providers with scheduling, coordination, and compassionate clinical assistance.

Pay ranges from $28.00 to $30.00 per hour, DOE. The position is a 13-week initial duration with standard 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• MA certificate from an approved program or equivalent training required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Support providers and patients as part of the healthcare team.
• Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, medications, and allergies.
• Assist with examinations, procedures, injections, and immunizations.
• Perform basic clinical tests, EKGs, and specimen collection as required.
• Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and patient information.
• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and radiology services.
• Verify patient demographics, insurance, and required authorizations.
• Handle check-in/check-out, payments, and prescription refill requests.
• Document patient information accurately in the EMR/EHR.
• Respond to patient questions and provide timely customer service.
• Coordinate patient care and assist with follow-ups.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved diploma school /institution or equivalent documented training required
• BLS - Basic Life Support required (AHA)
• Medical Assistant externship should be completed
