Job summary

The MA II at Swedish Medical Group operates under a licensed practitioner to assist with patient care across the assigned clinic. It builds on the MA I responsibilities and requires full competence in clinical needs at the workplace.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with hands-on clinical training.
• Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program.
• Completed two years of medical training in US Armed Forces or at least one year of medical assisting with vital signs, injections, and medication administration.
• Washington Medical Assistant Certification required upon hire.
• National BLS (American Heart Association) within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum 6 months healthcare experience.
• Minimum 6 months Medical Assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist a licensed practitioner in providing patient care as directed.
• Perform MA II duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Maintain clinical competencies and adhere to regulatory standards.
• Work at the assigned clinic/location and follow Providence workflow and care protocols.

Job description

The MA II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. An MA II is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training - Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants. -Or-
• Coursework/Training - Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program. -Or-
• Coursework/Training - Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces Or Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration
• Washington Medical Assistant Certification upon hire
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
• 6 months Healthcare experience.
• 6 months Medical Assistant experience.
