Job summary

Ezra Medical Center in Brooklyn is seeking a Medical Assistant to support our OB/GYN team and deliver compassionate patient care. You will help welcome patients and assist clinicians during visits.

With responsibilities spanning clinical tasks like vital signs, phlebotomy and EKGs if trained, and administrative duties such as scheduling and referrals, you will contribute to a welcoming, efficient patient experience in a multi-specialty practice.

Qualifications

What You'll Do

As a Medical Assistant supporting the OB/GYN team, you'll help patients feel welcome and support the clinical team throughout their visits.

• Escort patients to exam rooms
• Take and document vital signs, height, and weight
• Prepare patients for OB/GYN examinations and procedures
• Provide a welcoming, compassionate experience

Clinical Support

• Assist the provider during examinations and procedures, within the scope of your training
• Prepare and clean exam rooms between patients
• Collect and handle specimens according to office procedures
• Perform phlebotomy and EKGs, if trained and required
• Maintain clinical supplies and equipment

Administrative Support

• Schedule appointments and follow-up visits
• Process referrals and prior authorizations
• Answer and route patient calls appropriately
• Assist with patient recalls and follow-up care
• Support accurate and timely patient documentation

Compliance

• Follow Ezra Medical Center policies and procedures
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA
• Help ensure a safe and compliant clinical environment

What We're Looking For

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Medical Assistant certificate or equivalent healthcare training or experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Good organizational and multitasking abilities
• Compassionate, reliable, and detail-oriented approach

Preferred

• At least one year of Medical Assistant or clinical experience
• Experience supporting an OB/GYN practice
• Phlebotomy and EKG experience
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
