Job summary

Women’s Care seeks a Medical Assistant to provide clinical support during visits, prepare patients, and assist providers with procedures. The role includes room preparation, vital signs, phlebotomy, injections when needed, and patient education. CPR/BLS is preferred, with CMA eligibility within 120 days in Florida.

Experience in OB/GYN or primary care is a plus. Candidates should be organized, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• FL: CMA cert is preferred or obtainable within 120 days.
• Must graduate from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program or have Armed Forces Medical Technician background.
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtainable within 30 days via training.
• Experience in OBGYN or Primary Care a plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and chart documentation.
• Able to perform phlebotomy and injections if applicable.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills; professional communication.
• Computer skills and data entry into EMR (eCW preferred).
• Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; punctual and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment and testing.
• Restock and sterilize exam rooms, labs, and care areas per policy.
• Record medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint.
• Measure and document vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy and administer injections where applicable.
• Educate patients with information and instructions.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and safe work environment.
• Relay messages between patients, front office, and providers.
• Represent the office professionally to patients and staff.
• Participate in team and professional development activities.
• Attend required meetings and embody Women’s Care values.
