Job summary

WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to greet patients, take vitals, and prepare exam rooms for physician visits. You will assist with exams and procedures, schedule appointments, and support documentation throughout the patient encounter.

The role requires a high school diploma or MA program completion, with BLS certification within 30 days of hire. You will work in a team-oriented environment with potential travel between facilities and varied responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Medical Assistant Program or 1 year clinical experience.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and escort to exam rooms, record initial information and vitals.
  • Prepare exam rooms, ensure cleanliness and supplies.
  • Assist with exams, tests and procedures.
  • Schedule appointments and referrals as needed.
  • Support provider during examinations and procedures.
  • Educate patients on follow-up expectations.
  • Maintain quality control testing logs.
  • Ensure medical equipment is functioning properly.
  • Assist with completion of medical documents.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
  • 1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2. Graduate of a Medical Assistant ProgramOR one (1) year of experience in a clinical setting.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 2. Prepares exam rooms for patients with attention to cleanliness and availability of supplies.
  • 3. Assists with and/or performs exams, tests, and procedures.
  • 4. Schedules appointments and sets up referral contacts as needed.
  • 5. Assists provider during patient examinations and procedures.
  • 6. Educates patients on follow up expectations.
  • 7.Maintains quality control testing logs as required.
  • 8. Ensures all medical equipment is in proper working condition.
  • 9. Assists patients with completion of medical documentation.
  • 10. Assists with office administrative tasks to include but not limited to answering phones, taking messages, performing office related task (copying, printing, data entry, etc.) and assisting with depositing of cash and other closing duties.
