Job summary

WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. in Steubenville, OH is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform basic nursing skills under supervision of physicians and nursing staff. This role includes patient prep, vital signs, exams assistance, and clerical duties across the clinic setting.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a Medical Assistant program (or 1 year clinical experience), and BLS certification within 30 days of hire. 40 hours weekly; non-exempt position.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patient to exam rooms; obtains initial information and vital signs.
• Prepares exam rooms for patients with attention to cleanliness and supplies.
• Assists with and/or performs exams, tests, and procedures.
• Schedules appointments and sets up referral contacts as needed.
• Assists provider during patient examinations and procedures.
• Educates patients on follow up expectations.
• Maintains quality control testing logs as required.
• Ensures all medical equipment is in proper working condition.
• Assists patients with completion of medical documentation.
• Performs office administrative tasks including answering phones, taking messages, data entry, and cash deposits.
