The Medical Assistant for Neurology provides direct and telephone care to patients, following established standards. Collaborates with the care team to ensure seamless care, active patient participation, and assists physicians with clinical procedures.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Demonstrate clinical competence in patient care and assist physicians with procedures.
  2. Perform clinical duties within scope, adhering to department standards and protocols.
  3. Proactively address patient and family needs, communicating effectively.
  4. Escort patients to exam rooms promptly.
  5. Assist during exams and diagnostic procedures as directed.
  6. Perform authorized procedures such as vital signs, vision screening, and lab tests.
  7. Seek guidance from physicians or nurses when necessary.
  8. Prepare e-prescriptions for pharmacy processing as instructed.
  9. Maintain instruments and equipment according to guidelines.
  10. Process specimens for lab transport, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.

Required Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience in a medical setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School diploma/GED.
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program with recent experience.
  • Current Medical Assistant certification or eligibility.
  • CPR/BLS certification.

The hourly wage ranges from $16.00 to $24.42, based on experience, education, and certifications. Benefits include comprehensive packages, incentives, stock options, and 401k contributions.
