Role Overview

The Medical Assistant provides care to patients and their families via direct or telephone contact, following established standards. They coordinate with the care team to ensure seamless delivery and active patient participation, assisting physicians with clinical procedures.

Practice Hours

Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 8:00pm, Friday 7:30am - 6:00pm, rotating Saturday 7:30am - 12:00pm

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Demonstrate clinical competence in patient care and assist with procedures.
  2. Perform clinical duties within scope, adhering to department standards, policies, and protocols.
  3. Handle administrative tasks such as patient registration, co-pay collection, and insurance verification.
  4. Proactively address patient and family needs, communicating effectively.
  5. Assist healthcare providers during exams and diagnostic procedures.
  6. Perform authorized procedures like vital signs, vision screening, and lab tests.
  7. Maintain and prepare instruments and equipment according to guidelines.
  8. Process specimens correctly for laboratory transport.
Qualifications
Required
  • At least 6 months of clinical experience in a medical setting.
  • Over 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
Preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program with 1+ years of recent experience.
  • Current Nationally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification.
  • CPR/BLS certification.
  • Experience with EPIC EMR.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Compensation

The hourly range is $16.00 to $28.85, based on full-time employment, experience, education, certifications, and local market conditions. Benefits include a comprehensive package, incentive programs, stock purchase options, and 401k contributions, subject to eligibility.
