Summary
- The MA provides a wide range of assistive services to promote patient flow, gather patient information, and support patient care in the clinic setting. Performs patient access duties such as check-in and appointment scheduling for the provider's office to facilitate care delivery and follow-up. All medical tasks are performed under the supervision of the clinic nurse or provider.
- This position reports to the Clinic Manager and is employed by Mosaic Life Care.
Duties
- Interviews patients and documents responses in the medical record according to standards.
- Administers and documents prescribed medications and treatments, including oral, intramuscular, intradermal, subcutaneous, inhaled, and drops, following organizational standards.
- Observes, records, and reports patient responses to medications and treatments to providers.
- Handles documentation and communication of medication refills.
- Assists providers with examinations and procedures, including preparing sterile fields and maintaining equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma is required. If hired after 06/01/2021, completion of a Medical Assistant training program is required.
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA) credential is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Six months of experience in a physician’s office or healthcare setting is preferred.
