Position: Medical Assistant - Clinic

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Provider, performs patient care services, assists the Provider and other medical staff with patient visits and procedures in a medical office or clinic setting. May also perform front desk duties, including telephone work, patient scheduling, and supply ordering. If applicable, responsible for phlebotomy duties, including the collection and processing of specimens such as blood, urine, pap smears, and cultures.

Education/Experience Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or current certification as a Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant required.
• Six months of previous Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Current CPR certification required; TB certification may be required for some offices.
• Knowledge of medical documentation and terminology, with accurate spelling and recording skills.
• Organizational skills focused on patient care tracking and flow improvement.
• Ability to multi-task efficiently and remain calm in busy or stressful situations.
• Completion of annual skill validation, safety, and infection control procedures.
