Youth Apprentice (High School Junior & Seniors) Neurology Medical Assistant - Allouez Site

This position can work up to 19 hours per week.

Job Summary

The purpose of the clinical Youth Apprenticeship role is to help students gain knowledge and skills used in a medical setting. This role has the opportunity to provide patient care upon training and under the direct supervision of senior staff. The Clinical Youth Apprentice will gain valuable hands-on learning in various tasks such as patient rooming, monitoring vital signs, preparing rooms, and other duties relevant to an outpatient setting.

What you will do

  • Meet patient needs by adhering to rooming protocols, based on the scope of your Youth Apprentice role and the training provided, this can be done by conducting/documenting vital signs, reviewing patient histories, starting patients on equipment, assisting with patient transportation at time of discharge, and other functions deemed appropriate for this role.
  • Help maintain exam/patient rooms and equipment to be within infection control standards. Ensure appropriate levels of supplies for each room.

Education Qualifications

  • High school student in the grade level junior or senior. Participating in the Youth Apprenticeship program in accordance with school criteria. Required.

  • CPR/BLS Certification Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers from an approved program or Prevea sponsored program within 30 Days Required.
