Methodist Medical Group in Richardson, TX, seeks a Medical Assistant with NCT to support physicians in daily clinical tasks and patient care.

Under physician direction and with the clinical coordinator, you will perform routine procedures, take histories, vital signs, and document in health records, while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years healthcare related experience in your field.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Current approved medical assistant credential or credential obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Current NCT permit through the Texas Medical Board.

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient confidentiality and discretion when discussing patient information.
• Implements patient care and follow-up, including notification of lab results and updating patient information under physician guidance.
• May perform intramuscular, intradermal, or subcutaneous injections with documentation.
• Assist physicians and/or MAs in providing nursing care per clinic policies and procedures.
• Takes patient history and vitals.
• Demonstrates infection control procedures knowledge and practice.
• Cleans and disinfects instruments and maintains autoclave QA reports; autoclaving weekly/biweekly.
• Performs nurse/injection visits with documentation; handles X-rays and PFT as required.
• Prepare forms (e.g., FMLA) for physician review and signature; support Home health, pre-certs.

You will provide health care to individuals and families as instructed by the physician; performs routine clinical procedures as directed by the physician; participates in patient education; enters appropriate documentation into patients’ health record; performs all other duties assigned within the scope of your certification. Your Job Responsibilities: • Maintains strict patient confidentiality, and will use complete discretion when discussing patient information. • Implements patient care and patient follow-up to include the notification of lab results under, tasking messages, phone calls, and updating patient information under the guidance and direction of the all physicians and/or practice manager. • May perform intramuscular, intradermal of subcutaneous injections. With complete documentation. • Assists physicians and/or MA’s in providing nursing care to patients in accordance with clinic policies and procedures. • Takes patient history and vitals. • Demonstrates an extensive working knowledge and practice of infection control procedures. • Cleans and disinfects all instruments and maintain QA reports for the autoclave. • Autoclaving weekly or biweekly depending on demand. • Performs all nurse / injection only visits with appropriate documentation. • Performs all X-rays and PFT. • Prepare FMLA forms and various documents that come in for physician review and signature.
