Job summary

MedStar Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to perform clinical and administrative duties in an ambulatory care setting under physician/provider supervision. The role may float to other MedStar sites within the system and requires 6 months of experience with excellent customer service and patient interaction. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.

to 5 p.m. Location: 10401 Hospital Dr., Clinton, MD 20735 with travel to Leonardtown and Prince Frederick offices in Calvert County.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
6 months or more experience in ambulatory care medical office or equivalent.
Externship in a medical/ambulatory health setting strongly preferred; completed externship may substitute for 6 months experience.
CMA‑AAMA or RMA certification within 1 year is required; CPR certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

Perform clinical duties such as venipuncture, medication and vaccine administration, and measurement of vital signs.
Assist providers with patient exams and telephone/clerical support.
Provide administrative support and document patient information accurately.
Float to other sites within the MedStar Health system as needed.
