Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform clinical and administrative duties in an ambulatory care setting under the supervision of a physician/provider or RN. Duties include venipuncture, vaccine administration, vital signs, patient exams support, and clerical tasks.

The position may float to other sites within the system. The role requires a High School diploma or GED; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• CMA or RMA certification and CPR within 90 days required.
• Ambulatory care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient exams and prepare patients.
• Perform phlebotomy, vaccine administration, and vital signs documentation.
• Provide clerical support and EMR documentation.
• Float to other sites within the system as needed.
• Support population health and safety initiatives.
