Job summary

Quincy Medical Group in Mount Sterling, IL is seeking a Medical Assistant to support primary care providers in delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care. You will room patients, document clinical information, assist with examinations and procedures, and coordinate ongoing care for patients of all ages.

This full-time role requires strong communication and adaptability in a rural clinic setting, with no weekends and a daytime schedule. Prior MA experience and CPR are valued.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CPR certification required (available upon hire).
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • Previous clinical experience in a physician office or primary care setting preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and patient care skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinic environment.
  • Experience with electronic medical records preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and visit information.
  • Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and clinical support tasks.
  • Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments within scope of practice.
  • Coordinate referrals, lab work, imaging, prior authorizations, and follow-up care.
  • Communicate provider instructions, test results, and patient education materials.
  • Respond to patient phone calls, messages, and clinical inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record.
  • Ensure exam rooms and clinical areas are clean, stocked, and prepared.
  • Support patient education and chronic disease management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support family practice operations.

About the Role

As a Medical Assistant in Family Practice at our Mt. Sterling, IL clinic, you will play a key role in supporting primary care providers in delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care. You will assist with rooming patients, documenting clinical information, supporting in-office procedures, and helping coordinate ongoing care needs for patients of all ages. This role requires strong communication skills, adaptability, and a commitment to providing high-quality care in a rural clinic setting.

Schedule & Work Environment

Full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Based in Mt. Sterling, Illinois. Schedule may vary based on provider and clinic needs. No weekends, holidays, or overnight shifts. Primary care clinic environment focused on continuity and patient relationships.

Compensation

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $16.12 - $24.18 per hour, with actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through bonuses and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
