Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting. You will room patients, take vital signs, document in the electronic medical record, assist with procedures, and help promote efficient, patient-centered flow.

You will handle front desk duties for the department, schedule patients, verify payor information, and ensure PHI safety in accordance with UH policies and annual training.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow.
• Responsible for all front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.
• Performs patient centered care delegated by Provider.
• Provides a safe environment for patients.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain PHI for our patients.
• Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
