Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative functions in an outpatient setting. You will room patients, record vital signs, and assist providers to maintain smooth patient flow.

You will perform front desk duties for the department, verify patient information, help with procedures, ensure a safe environment, and comply with PHI, privacy, and UH policies.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow.
• Assist with front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.
• Performs basic patient centered care as delegated by provider
• Provides a safe environment for patients
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
