Job description

Medical Assistant - Medical Receptionist

Location: Takoma Park, Maryland

Pay From: $18 per hour

MUST:
  • Experienced Medical Assistant - Medical Receptionist
  • 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
  • Experience working on EMR; knowledge of Epic highly preferred
  • Strong experience verifying insurance and handling prior authorizations
  • Experience handling and conducting a high volume of calls
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Medical Assistant diploma or certification/registration as a Medical Assistant
  • Experience with Phlebotomy highly preferred
  • Spanish and English speaking skills highly preferred
DUTIES:

The Medical Assistant - Medical Receptionist will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Triage patients
  • Prepare medical records
  • Room patients
  • Provide clinical help
  • Welcome patients and visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone; answer or refer inquiries
  • Optimize patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone
  • Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying providers of patient arrivals, reviewing service delivery against schedule, and reminding providers of delays
  • Comfort patients by addressing anxieties, answering questions, and maintaining the reception area
  • Ensure availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records
  • Maintain patient accounts by recording and updating personal and financial information
  • Perform data entry and processing
  • Schedule appointments
  • Maintain medical records
