Job description

Medical Assistant - Medical Receptionist

Location: Annapolis, Maryland

Pay From: $18 per hour

Must:

• Experienced Medical Assistant - Medical Receptionist with 2+ years of experience
• Experience working on EMR systems; knowledge of Epic highly preferred
• Strong experience verifying insurance and handling prior authorizations
• Experience managing a high volume of calls
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Medical Assistant diploma or certification/registration as a Medical Assistant
• Phlebotomy experience highly preferred
• Fluency in Spanish and English highly preferred

Responsibilities:

1. Triage patients
2. Prepare medical records
3. Room patients and provide clinical assistance
4. Greet patients and visitors, answer inquiries via phone or in person
5. Schedule appointments to optimize patient satisfaction and provider time
6. Notify providers of patient arrivals and manage delays
7. Address patient anxieties and questions, maintain reception area
8. Maintain and retrieve patient records accurately
9. Update patient accounts with personal and financial information
10. Perform data entry and processing
11. Schedule appointments and maintain medical records
