Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care under a medical provider’s supervision. You will help with clinical procedures, manage exam rooms, handle patient intake, and ensure smooth clinic operations while delivering excellent service to patients and staff.

Position requires completion of a Medical Assistant program (accredited) and 0–1 years of experience in a medical setting or externship; BCLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of Medical Assistant program from an accredited school preferred.
• 0-1 years of experience in a medical practice setting or externship required.
• BCLS certification required per listed standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and medical record systems.

Responsibilities

• Assists providers with non-invasive medical procedures; takes vital signs and prepares patients for exams.
• Prepares and cleans exam rooms before patient visits and clinical procedures.
• Performs patient intake duties, including reporting test results, phone triage, and documenting medical information as directed by licensed personnel.
• Reviews and maintains daily logs and documentation.
• Supports administrative duties: pre-registering patients, scheduling, referrals, insurance verification, and clinic communications.
• Maintains organized workload and provides prompt, courteous service to providers, patients, and visitors.
• Monitors and requisitions supplies and equipment to ensure inventory and functionality.
• Educates patients on medications, diets, and health topics; answers questions for understanding.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Complies with policies and standards.
