Job summary

Trinity Health in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care under licensed clinicians in a clinic or practice setting. You will be responsible for room setup, patient preparation, vitals, EKGs, blood draws, injections, injections, immunizations, point-of-care testing, basic pharmacology, and administrative tasks.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and completion of an MA program with externship or EMT/Paramedic training.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED and MA program completion or MA externship, EMT, or Paramedic program.
• Preferred: CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, CMAC certifications.
• Experience: 2+ years clinical support if MA program not completed; new grads or 1+ year experience welcomed.

Medical Assistants work in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of licensed clinical professionals in a clinic or practice environment. MAs are expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience.

What you will need:

Education- Minimum: High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of accredited/approved: MA program and MA externship, MA internship, EMT, or Paramedic program.

Credentials/Licensure (Preferred): Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies:

• American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
• American Medical Technologists (RMA)
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
• National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)
• National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
• American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)

Related Experience- Minimum: In absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship, must have 2+ years clinical experience providing clinical support in community-based clinic and be subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills. Preferred: New graduate or 1 or more years of previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
