Job summary

Trinity Health MI is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant for relief coverage of vacation and FMLA openings. You will work in a clinic or practice environment under the direction of licensed clinicians, ensuring a smooth patient visit experience.

Responsibilities include room setup, vitals, EKGs, phlebotomy, injections, and procedures. Education is a High School diploma with MA training; certification is preferred. A comprehensive benefits package is offered for eligible positions.

Qualifications

• Education- Minimum: High School Diploma or GED or MA program completion.
• Preferred: MA certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, CMAC).

Description

Relief position coverage for vacation and FMLA openings. Medical Assistants work in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of licensed clinical professionals in a clinic or practice environment. MAs are expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience.

What you will do

• Room set up and patient preparation
• Taking vitals (Manual & Electronic)
• Perform EKG
• Drawing blood and giving injections and immunizations.
• Performing office tests (Point of Care Testing)
• Pharmacology
• Administrative duties
• May perform or assisting with in-office procedures / treatments

What you will need

• Education- Minimum: High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of accredited/approved: MA program and MA externship, MA internship, EMT, or Paramedic program.
• Credentials/Licensure (Preferred): Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies:
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
  • American Medical Technologists (RMA)
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
  • National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)
  • National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
  • American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
• Related Experience- Minimum: In absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship, must have 2+ years clinical experience providing clinical support in community-based clinic and be subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills. Preferred: New graduate or 1 or more years of previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
