Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a collaborative clinic setting in Michigan. The role supports patient visits under licensed clinicians, performing vitals, EKGs, blood draws, injections, immunizations, and point-of-care tests.

Responsibilities include room setup, patient prep, administrative duties, and assisting with in-office procedures as needed. Prior MA training and relevant certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of accredited MA program with externship or EMT/Paramedic program.
• Certification as Medical Assistant preferred (CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/CMAC).
• Experience: 2+ years clinical support if MA program not completed.

Responsibilities

• Set up room and prepare patients.
• Take vitals (manual & electronic).
• Perform EKGs.
• Draw blood and give injections/immunizations.
• Conduct Point of Care testing in the office.
• Assist with pharmacology and office procedures.
• Handle administrative duties.
• May assist with in-office procedures.

Medical Assistants work in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of licensed clinical professionals in a clinic or practice environment. MAs are expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience. Be the person that makes the difference every day in our patients’ lives.

What you will do

• Room set up and patient preparation
• Taking vitals (Manual & Electronic)

• Performing office tests (Point of Care Testing)

• Administrative duties
• May perform or assisting with in-office procedures / treatments

What you will need

• Education- Minimum: High School Diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of accredited/approved: MA program and MA externship, MA internship, EMT, or Paramedic program.
• Credentials/Licensure (Preferred): Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) American Medical Technologists (RMA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA) National Healthcareer Association (CCMA) National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA) American Medical Certification Association (CMAC).
• Related Experience- Minimum: In absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship, must have 2+ years clinical experience providing clinical support in community-based clinic and be subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills.
• Preferred: New graduate or 1 or more years of previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
