Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians is seeking a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care in outpatient settings. You will room patients, record vital signs, interview patients, and prep for examinations and tests under physician direction.

The role emphasizes teamwork, clinical protocol adherence, and opportunities for certification and tuition reimbursement to advance your qualifications.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program.
  • Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience.
  • Military Medic training or EMT-P training.
  • Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education.
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients, measure and record vital signs (height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration).
  • Complete patient interview and history.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures; assist with procedures as ordered by physician.
  • May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
  • Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
  • Collect samples (blood, urine, sputum) and perform routine laboratory tests.

Responsibilities

Purpose:

The Medical Assistantrolesassistwith direct patient care, andperformsspecialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated byestablishedclinical protocol.Assistmedical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent along with at least one of the following:

  • A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program OR
  • Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience OR
  • Military Medic training OR
  • EMT-P (Paramedic) training OR
  • Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education

Preferences:

  • Medical Assistant Certification

Pay Range
