Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is hiring a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care at our outpatient centers. You will room patients, record vital signs, collect samples, interview patients, and help prepare them for examinations and procedures under physician direction.

Responsibilities include performing routine tests, assisting in treatments, and maintaining clean treatment rooms. A High School diploma and MA program diploma or equivalent experience are required, with

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Diploma from Medical Assistant Program.
  • Minimum of 1 year medical assisting experience.
  • Military Medic training or EMT-P training acceptable.
  • Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients, measure and record vital signs and elements.
  • Complete patient interview and history.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures.
  • Assist with procedures as ordered by physician.
  • Set up equipment and prepare treatment rooms for patients.
  • Collect samples and perform routine laboratory tests.

Responsibilities

Purpose:

The Medical Assistantrolesassistwith direct patient care, andperformsspecialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated byestablishedclinical protocol.Assistmedical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients.

  • Room patients, measure and record vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.
  • Complete patient interview and history.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures. Assists with procedures as ordered by physician.
  • May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
  • Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
  • Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.
Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent along with at least one of the following:

  • A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program
  • Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience
  • Military Medic training
  • EMT-P (Paramedic) training
  • Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education

Preferences:

  • Medical Assistant Certification

Pay Range

USD $17.84 - USD $28.75 /Hr.
