Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the clinical team in Columbus, OH. The role involves direct patient care, rooming patients, taking vitals, preparing for exams, and assisting physicians with procedures in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

  • Complete patient interview and history.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures; assist with procedures as ordered by physician.
  • May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
  • Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients; collect samples (blood, urine, sputum) and perform routine lab tests.

Responsibilities
Purpose

The Medical Assistantrolesassistwith direct patient care, andperformsspecialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated byestablishedclinical protocol.Assistmedical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent along with at least one of the following:

  • A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program OR
  • Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience OR
  • Military Medic training OR
  • EMT-P (Paramedic) training OR
  • Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
Preferences
  • Medical Assistant Certification

Pay Range
