Job summary

The Ohio State University Physicians, Inc. is hiring a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care at our outpatient team.

The role includes rooming patients, taking vital signs, preparing for procedures, and assisting physicians with examinations and tests. Preferred candidates have a Medical Assistant program diploma or equivalent, with at least 1 year of experience, and may pursue a MA certification for additional compensation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent along with at least one of the following.
• A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program
• Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience
• Military Medic training
• EMT-P (Paramedic) training
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
• Preferences: Medical Assistant Certification

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure and record vital signs.
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures.
• Assists with procedures as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum and perform routine laboratory tests.

Responsibilities

Purpose:

• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments and explain procedures. Assists with procedures as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum from patients, and perform routine laboratory tests on samples.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent along with at least one of the following:

• A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program
• Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience
• Military Medic training
• EMT-P (Paramedic) training
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
