Job summary

Lovelace Medical Group in Albuquerque, NM is hiring a Medical Assistant (MA) for day shift roles, available as full-time or PRN. The position supports patient care with EMR documentation, vital signs, and room readiness, with a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Enters, maintains, and reports all medical history, medical coding, and files claims using an EMR.
• Patient visit support that may include greeting patients, escorting to exam room, taking vital signs, and other applicable medical information.
• Sterilizes and prepares medical instruments; ensures exam rooms are disinfected, orderly, and ready for patients.
• Assists in maintaining inventory and stocking supplies for all exam rooms.
• Maintains inventory paperwork and reviews orders for completeness.
• Addresses referrals and insurance authorizations and coordinates with pharmacies, hospitals, and labs.

Responsibilities

• Enters, maintains, and reports all medical history, medical coding, and files claims using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Patient visit support that may include: Greeting patients, and escorting patient to exam room and/or taking patients’ vital signs, and other applicable medical information to effectively support the reason for the patients visit and recommended treatment.
• Sterilizes and prepares medical instruments. Ensures patient exam rooms are disinfected, orderly, and ready for incoming patients. Provides patients with privacy, comfort, safety and hygiene.
• Assists in maintaining inventoryand stocking supplies, instruments and equipment for all exam rooms.
• Maintains appropriate paperwork for inventory control and reviews orders received for completeness.
• Addresses and requests referrals and other insurance authorizations in addition to passing along patient information for prescription, x-ray or lab requisitions to necessary parties. This includes calls to pharmacies, hospitals, and labs.
