Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians (OSUP) seeks Medical Assistants to support direct patient care across our outpatient centers. You will room patients, record vital signs, prepare exam rooms, and assist physicians and nurses with procedures per clinical protocol. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus a Medical Assistant program diploma or equivalent experience.

EMT-P or Military Medic training is acceptable. Certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Diploma from Medical Assistant Program.
• Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience.
• Military Medic training.
• EMT-P (Paramedic) training.
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, measure and record vital signs (height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration).
• Complete patient interview and history.
• Prepare patients for examinations, tests and treatments; assist with procedures as ordered by physician.
• May assist in examinations, carry out treatments and special tests.
• Set up equipment and prepare medical treatment rooms for patients.
• Collect samples such as blood, urine and sputum; perform routine laboratory tests.

• EMT-P (Paramedic) training OR
• Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education

Pay Range
