Job summary

Trinity Health MI is seeking a Medical Assistant to work under licensed clinical professionals in a clinic setting. You will support patient flow, prepare rooms, take vitals, perform EKGs, and assist with injections and immunizations.

The role requires a high school diploma or MA program completion; related certification is preferred. Day shift, with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within Trinity Health MI.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent; completion of accredited MA program.
• Certification as CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA or equivalent preferred.
• 2+ years of clinical support in a community clinic preferred if no MA program completed.

Responsibilities

• Room setup and patient preparation.
• Take vitals (manual and electronic).
• Perform EKG and draw blood; administer injections/immunizations.
• Conduct point-of-care testing and basic pharmacology tasks.
• Assist with in-office procedures and treatments.
• Handle administrative duties to support clinic flow.

What you will do:

• Room set up and patient preparation
• Taking vitals (Manual & Electronic)
• Perform EKG
• Drawing blood and giving injections and immunizations.
• Performing office tests (Point of Care Testing)
• Pharmacology
• Administrative duties
• May perform or assisting with in-office procedures / treatments

What you will need:

• Education- Minimum: High School Diploma or GED. Successful completion of accredited/approved: MA program and MA externship, MA internship, EMT, or Paramedic program.
• Credentials/Licensure (Preferred): Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies:
• American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
• American Medical Technologists (RMA)
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
• National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)
• National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
• American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
• Related Experience- Minimum: In absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship, must have 2+ years clinical experience providing clinical support in community-based clinic and be subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills. Preferred: New graduate or 1 or more years of previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
