Job Description

The Medical Assistant provides basic clinical and clerical support within their scope of education, with ongoing training in all aspects of the role.

1. Provides direct patient care such as vitals, allergy/medical reconciliation, screenings, patient history, health maintenance, advance directives, and virtual health.
2. Performs indirect patient care including scheduling, check-in/out, referrals, chart preparation, and prior authorizations. Conducts point-of-care testing with quality control and documentation.
3. Handles administrative duties and covers front desk as needed.
4. Floats to other offices based on business needs.

Qualifications

Education

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic, or Medic Certification, or relevant experience.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association within 3 months of hire.

Experience

• At least one year of direct patient care experience may substitute for education.
• Experience or externship in a busy medical office preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.
