Job summary

North Alabama Shoals Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) in a Cardiology unit for full-time daytime hours. The role focuses on direct patient care, basic diagnostic procedures, and coordination with a multidisciplinary team in a busy clinical environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required or equivalent.
• CCMA, CMA or RMA preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) to be obtained within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
• Documents patient care given.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
• Maintains examination areas.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
