ProgressiveHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our on-site occupational health team in Smyrna, TN, supporting a large automobile manufacturer. The role emphasizes early intervention to prevent injuries and keep workers safe and productive.

The ideal candidate has CMA certification or two years of patient-care experience, CPR/AED, and strong computer skills. This full-time, day-shift position (Mon-Fri, 6 AM–2 PM) offers benefits, PTO, and opportunities for growth.

• Certification as Medical Assistant (AAMA/AMT) or ARMA registration

• CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain before start
• Knowledge of workers' compensation and OSHA preferred

Responsabilidades

• Greet patients and escort to exam areas; measure vital signs
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient exams
• Assist clinician with care of occupational injuries and illnesses
• Disinfect and clean treatment rooms; maintain safe environment
• Stock exam rooms and maintain instruments; prepare sterilization
• Aid in supply inventory and stocking
• Maintain logs (refrigerated temps, etc.)
• Administer first aid
• Operate EKG, Spirometry, X-ray, hearing booth and other equipment
• Perform injections or treatments as ordered
• Maintain documentation and records
• Perform front desk administrative tasks

Medical Assistant – ProgressiveHealth Occ Health, LLC – Smyrna, TN

We are looking for an energetic and results-driven Medical Assistant to help provide occupational care onsite for a large automobile manufacturer in TN. We strive to increase the industrial athlete’s ability to perform their job duties safely and decrease the risk of injury through intervention at the early onset of discomfort in a dynamic work environment. Medical Assistant experience is preferred, and front desk or administrative experience is a plus!

What will you be doing in this role?

• Greets and escorts patients to exam areas, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height
• Prepares treatment rooms for patient exams
• Assists mid-level practitioner with care of acute and chronic occupational injuries and illness
• Disinfects, cleans treatment rooms following patient exams, maintaining a safe, secure and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures.
• Keeps exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintains instruments, and prepares sterilization as required. Properly disposes of contaminated supplies.
• Aids in supply inventory and stocking.
• Aids in maintaining all logs and required checks (refrigerated temps, etc.)
• Administers first aid support
• Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), Spirometry, X-ray, hearing booth, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests
• Performs injections or treatments as ordered or per protocol
• Maintains all documentation, procedures, and records to ensure compliance
• Performs administrative tasks and assists at the front desk

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Certification or eligibility for certification as a Medical Assistant from the American Academy of Medical Assistants, the American Medical Technologist Organization, or current registration with the American Registry of Medical Assistants
• OR two years’ work experience in patient care specifically at a health center/doctor’s office
• CPR/AED certification or the ability to obtain it prior to the start of employment; maintain and provide proof of current certification(s)
• Basic knowledge of workers' compensation and OSHA regulations, preferred
• The ability to stand, walk, and sit throughout entire assigned shift
• Previous occupational health experience is a plus
• A high degree of professionalism and customer service in both written and verbal communication
• The ability to work both independently and in a team environment, without constant supervision
• Be able to maintain confidentiality
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with databases and with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
