Job summary

MemorialCare is seeking a Medical Assistant in Laguna Hills, CA in the GI Services department. This full-time role supports the clinical care team, assists with patient care, and ensures efficient patient flow in an ambulatory setting.

Two pay levels apply with different experience requirements. Level 1 ranges $23.00–$33.18 per hour; Level 2 ranges $25.22–$36.57 per hour. A $2,500 signing bonus is available for external hires who meet employment requirements.

Qualifications

• 2 years of prior clinical experience in ambulatory care preferred.
• Clinical competency in basic medical assisting tasks.
• Ability to perform procedures under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Meet ambulatory Medical Assistant clinical competencies.

• Follow standard work for patient care processes.
• Maintain rooms stocked with supplies and ensure EHR documentation is complete and timely.
• Provide patient instructions as directed by Provider.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

MA Level 1 – 0 to 2 year of Experience Pay Range: $23.00/hr - $33.18/hr

MA Level 2 – 2+ years of Experience Pay Range: $25.22/hr - $36.57/hr

Position Summary

Assist and support the clinical care team members with the delivery of patient care in accordance to the Medical Assistant scope of practice.

Essential Job Outcomes

• Meet ambulatory Medical Assistant clinical competencies.
• Perform clinical procedures under supervision of Provider.
• Follow standard work for patient care processes.
• Maintain effective and organized systems to ensure:
  • Timely patient flow.
  • Rooms stocked with adequate supplies.
  • Maintain instruments.
  • Ensure all related reports and information are available in the Electronic Health Record.
  • Maintenance of all logs and required checks.
• Provide instructions to patients as ordered/instructed by Provider.
• Implement orders and teaching plan components as directed by Provider and licensed care team member(s).
• Ensure documentation is complete, accurate and timely; reflecting patients’ plan of care.
• Demonstrate continued development of clinical expertise, current knowledge of healthcare trends, and education related to clinical ambulatory practice.
• Participate in processes that improve standard of care and practice in the delivery of ambulatory clinical care.
• Perform any additional or miscellaneous duties as requested by the management team within the scope of knowledge and ability.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years to experience and qualifications. Minimum Requirements

• 2 years of prior clinical experience in ambulatory care environment preferred
• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Certificate from Accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
