Job summary

MemorialCare Medical Foundation in Irvine, CA is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support the internal medicine team. The role offers a day shift with a possible signing bonus for external hires and a competitive pay range based on experience.

You will assist providers, maintain clean, stocked rooms, document in the EHR, and help manage patient flow. Requirements include MA certificate and BLS certification; experience in ambulatory care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior clinical experience in ambulatory care preferred.
• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Certificate from Accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider required.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support the clinical care team with the delivery of patient care in the scope of MA practice.
• Meet ambulatory Medical Assistant clinical competencies.
• Perform clinical procedures under supervision of Provider.
• Follow standard work for patient care processes.
• Maintain rooms stocked with adequate supplies and ensure instrument readiness.
• Ensure all related reports and information are available in the EHR and logs are maintained.
• Provide instructions to patients as ordered by the Provider.
• Implement orders and teaching plan components as directed by the clinician.
• Ensure documentation is complete, accurate and timely; reflect the care plan.
• Participate in processes that improve standard of care in ambulatory practice.

Description

Title: Medical Assistant

Location: Irvine, CA

Department: Internal Medicine

Status: Full time

Shift: Days (8hr shift)

MA Level 1 – 0 to 2 year of Experience Pay Range: $23.00/hr - $33.18/hr

MA Level 2 – 2+ years of Experience Pay Range: $25.22/hr - $36.57/hr

$2,500 signing bonus available to external hires new to MHS employment, contingent upon satisfaction of employment requirements.

Assist and support the clinical care team members with the delivery of patient care in accordance to the Medical Assistant scope of practice .

• Meet ambulatory Medical Assistant clinical competencies.
• Perform clinical procedures under supervision of Provider.
• Follow standard work for patient care processes.
• Maintain effective and organized systems to ensure:
  • Timely patient flow.
  • Rooms stocked with adequate supplies.
  • Maintain instruments.
  • Ensure all related reports and information are available in the Electronic Health Record.
  • Maintenance of all logs and required checks.
• Provide instructions to patients as ordered/instructed by Provider.
• Implement orders and teaching plan components as directed by Provider and licensed care team member(s).
• Ensure documentation is complete, accurate and timely; reflecting patients’ plan of care.
• Demonstrate continued development of clinical expertise, current knowledge of healthcare trends, and education related to clinical ambulatory practice.
• Participate in processes that improve standard of care and practice in the delivery of ambulatory clinical care.
• Perform any additional or miscellaneous duties as requested by the management team within the scope of knowledge and ability.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications.
