Job summary

MemorialCare seeks a Medical Assistant in Laguna Hills, CA to support the clinical team in ambulatory patient care. This full-time role focuses on timely patient flow, room readiness, and accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record, with duties including patient instruction and provider-directed teaching.

Minimum 2 years’ ambulatory care experience is preferred; a valid Medical Assistant certificate is required.

Qualifications

• 2 years of prior clinical experience in ambulatory care preferred.
• Certificate from Accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider required.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support the clinical care team members with the delivery of patient care in accordance to the Medical Assistant scope of practice.
• Meet ambulatory Medical Assistant clinical competencies and perform clinical procedures under supervision.
• Follow standard work for patient care processes and manage timely patient flow.
• Maintain rooms stocked and equipment/instruments, ensure EHR documentation is complete and accurate.
• Provide patient instruction as ordered and implement provider-directed teaching plans.
• Support logs, checks, and other duties as assigned by management.

MA Level 1 – 0 to 2 year of Experience Pay Range: $23.00/hr - $33.18/hr

MA Level 2 – 2+ years of Experience Pay Range: $25.22/hr - $36.57/hr

$2,500 signing bonus available to external hires new to MHS employment, contingent upon satisfaction of employment requirements.

Position Summary

Assist and support the clinical care team members with the delivery of patient care in accordance to the Medical Assistant scope of practice.

Essential Job Outcomes

• Meet ambulatory Medical Assistant clinical competencies.
• Perform clinical procedures under supervision of Provider.
• Follow standard work for patient care processes.
• Maintain effective and organized systems to ensure:
• Timely patient flow.
• Rooms stocked with adequate supplies.
• Maintain instruments.
• Ensure all related reports and information are available in the Electronic Health Record.
• Maintenance of all logs and required checks.
• Provide instructions to patients as ordered/instructed by Provider.
• Implement orders and teaching plan components as directed by Provider and licensed care team member(s).
• Ensure documentation is complete, accurate and timely; reflecting patients’ plan of care.
• Demonstrate continued development of clinical expertise, current knowledge of healthcare trends, and education related to clinical ambulatory practice.
• Participate in processes that improve standard of care and practice in the delivery of ambulatory clinical care.
• Perform any additional or miscellaneous duties as requested by the management team within the scope of knowledge and ability.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years to experience and qualifications.
