Job summary

MemorialCare is seeking a Medical Assistant in Irvine, CA for a full-time Day shift within the Family Medicine department. The role involves assisting the clinical care team and delivering patient care according to MA scope of practice.

Ideal candidates will have a certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program, and ambulatory care experience is preferred. A signing bonus is available to external hires who meet employment requirements.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Certificate from Accredited Medical Assistant Program required.
• Prior clinical experience in ambulatory care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support the clinical care team members with the delivery of patient care in accordance to the Medical Assistant scope of practice.
• Meet ambulatory Medical Assistant clinical competencies.
• Perform clinical procedures under supervision of Provider.
• Follow standard work for patient care processes.
• Maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow and rooms stocked with adequate supplies.
• Maintain instruments and ensure all related reports and information are available in the Electronic Health Record.
• Provide instructions to patients as ordered by Provider.
• Demonstrate continued development of clinical expertise and stay informed on healthcare trends.

MA Level 1 – 0 to 2 year of Experience Pay Range: $23.00/hr - $33.18/hr

MA Level 2 – 2+ years of Experience Pay Range: $25.22/hr - $36.57/hr

$2,500 signing bonus available to external hires new to MHS employment, contingent upon satisfaction of employment requirements.

Position Summary

Assist and support the clinical care team members with the delivery of patient care in accordance to the Medical Assistant scope of practice.

Essential Job Outcomes

• Meet ambulatory Medical Assistant clinical competencies.
• Perform clinical procedures under supervision of Provider.
• Follow standard work for patient care processes.
• Maintain effective and organized systems to ensure:
  • Timely patient flow.
  • Rooms stocked with adequate supplies.
  • Maintain instruments.
  • Ensure all related reports and information are available in the Electronic Health Record.
  • Maintenance of all logs and required checks.
• Provide instructions to patients as ordered/instructed by Provider.
• Implement orders and teaching plan components as directed by Provider and licensed care team member(s).
• Ensure documentation is complete, accurate and timely; reflecting patients’ plan of care.
• Demonstrate continued development of clinical expertise, current knowledge of healthcare trends, and education related to clinical ambulatory practice.
• Participate in processes that improve standard of care and practice in the delivery of ambulatory clinical care.
• Perform any additional or miscellaneous duties as requested by the management team within the scope of knowledge and ability.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications.
