Job summary

Mohawk Valley Health System in Utica, NY is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or candidate with direct patient care experience to join our team. You will observe and record patient data, prepare patients and exam rooms, assist with procedures, perform point-of-care testing, and maintain supplies.

Strong communication and computer skills are essential; BLS within 6 weeks is required. This is a full-time, on-site role with an 8-hour shift structure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Concentration needed to assimilate information from many different sources.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Observes, collects, records and reports data related to patient’s physical, psychosocial and self-care ability.
• Prepares patient for examination.
• Assists provider with medical procedures.
• Prepares treatment rooms for patient examination.
• Performs point-of-care testing as appropriate.
• Maintains inventory levels of medical supplies.
• Responds to patient issues and notifies the office manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Responds appropriately to patient’s issues and notifies the office manager.

Licensure/Certification Requirements

EQUIRED:
