Job summary

Norman Regional in Moore, OK is seeking a Medical Assistant to screen patients, collect pertinent information, and support physicians during visits according to age-specific needs. The role also involves keeping exam rooms tidy and functioning, and providing general clinic support.

Candidates typically have a high school diploma and completed an accredited Medical Assistant program; BLS/CPR is required on orientation and maintained during employment; CMA/RMA certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Prefer at least one year of clinical or physician-office experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) training required and maintained.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited program in Medical Assistant Training or equivalent experience required.

Experience

• Prefer at least one year experience in a clinical or physician-office setting, emergency room and/or a hospital setting that provides patient care.
• Prefer medical office, insurance, referral and prior authorization, hospital or computer experience.
• Experience in office clerical activities desirable.

(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)

Licensure/Certification

• Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for duration of employment.
• CMA or RMA preferred.

Compensation/Benefits

• $15.46-$25.24/hr depending on previous work experience.
