Job summary

Ridgeview Medical Center is seeking a healthcare assistant to support providers and nursing staff in a fast-paced clinic. You will escort patients, document vitals in the EMR, and assist with examinations and treatments.

Responsibilities include medical equipment prep, room turnover, and coordination of referrals. A Medical Assisting or Practical Nursing program is required, with CPR certification and strong English communication skills essential.

Job description

Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for performing a variety of patient care activities to assist providers and nursing personnel. Facilitates patient/physician/provider communication and coordination of care.

Job Functions

1. Escorts patients to examination room and obtains vitals and documents in EMR
2. Administers prescribed medications/vaccine's and treatments in accordance with clinic policies and scope of certification/licensure
3. Prepares equipment and assists providers during examination, testing and treatment of patients
4. Performs room turn over in patient rooms between cases and at the end of day
5. Assists in maintaining stocked supplies and sterilizes instruments/exam rooms
6. Assists in arranging referrals/prior authorizations as necessary
7. Assists with patient education
8. Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Education/Work Experience/License Certifications

• Graduation from Medical Assisting program or School of Practical Nursing

Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities

• Ability to multi-task.
• Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
• Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions.
• Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications.

License/Certifications
