Join the MercyOne Family! We are hiring a Medical Assistant/LPN for our Neurosurgery Clinic.

As a Medical Assistant/LPN at MercyOne, you will be responsible for delivering patient care that promotes safety and wellbeing. This includes performing preliminary physical tests such as measuring blood pressure, recording weight, temperature, pulse, and respirations, and other measures as directed by clinical protocols.

• Obtain and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications.
• Draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis if required.
• Administer medications and vaccines via various routes as ordered.
• Perform routine tests including EKGs.
• Schedule diagnostic testing and follow up for completion.
• Communicate test results and care plans with patients by phone or mail.
• Maintain instruments and equipment, keep exam rooms clean and stocked, dispose of contaminated items properly.
• Document patient care, tests, and examination results in medical records as directed.

Schedule:

• Full Time
• Days M-TH 7:30 am - 4 pm, Fri 8 am - 12 pm

General Requirements:

• Current/valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
• Medication Aide certification or completion of a 40-hour Medication Aide course.
• Additional training such as Non-Certified Radiologic Technician (NCT) may be required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within three months of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.

For LPN candidates:

• Current LPN license issued by Iowa.
• Clinic or physician office experience preferred.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant or LPN program as applicable.
