Join the MercyOne Family! We are hiring a Medical Assistant/LPN for our Pediatric Clinic in Newton.

As a Medical Assistant/LPN at MercyOne, you will be responsible for delivering patient care that promotes safety and well-being. You will perform preliminary physical tests such as measuring blood pressure, recording weight, temperature, pulse, and respirations according to clinical protocols.

• Obtain and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, allergies, medications, and presenting problems.
• Draw and collect blood samples, prepare specimens for lab analysis.
• Administer medications and vaccines via various routes.
• Perform routine tests like EKGs.
• Schedule diagnostic tests and follow up on completion.
• Communicate test results and care plans with patients.
• Maintain instruments and equipment, keep exam rooms clean and stocked.
• Document patient care, tests, and results in medical records as directed.

Schedule:

• Full Time, Days, M-F, varied schedule between 7:30 am - 4:30 pm

General Requirements:

Medical Assistant or LPN qualifications:

• Current/valid CMA or RMA certification required for Medical Assistants.
• Medication Aide certification or completion required if applicable.
• Additional training such as NCT may be required.
• BLS certification within three months of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.

• LPN license issued by Iowa required.
• Clinic experience preferred.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant or LPN program required.
