Position Summary

This position provides clinical nursing support to Williamson Health Medical Group by communicating clinical information to patients and businesses, scheduling tests and consultations, obtaining clinical specimens, assessing patients, performing clinical office procedures, and maintaining adequate clinical supplies.

Position Requirements

• Formal Education / Training: High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Workplace Experience: At least one year of experience in a medical office environment.
• Equipment and Skills Training: Competence in using glucometers, BP cuffs, thermometers, computers, autoclaves, stethoscopes, audioscopes, business phones, and administering oral and injectable medications.
• Physical Environment: Office environment.
• Physical Effort: Ability to sit, stand, communicate in English (orally and in writing), and lift over 20 pounds.

Performance Standards

1. Accurately record patient's medical history and vital signs.
2. Administer immunizations and injections as appropriate.
3. Provide counseling on health-related issues.
4. Order and maintain medications.
5. Coordinate outpatient care with local businesses.
6. Secure consultations and specialists.
7. Triages phone calls.
8. Prepare special drug and care requests.
9. Train new employees within WHMG pulmonary and sleep medicine.
10. Assist physicians with med/surg procedures.
11. Observe universal precautions.
12. Monitor sample drug closet.
13. Use proper lifting techniques to prevent injury.
14. Coordinate with local pharmacies to ensure patients have adequate medication supplies.
