Job description

UPMC Department of Orthopaedics - Medical Assistant Position at Lemieux Sports Complex

Join our Sports Medicine office! Hours are Monday through Friday with shifts rotating from 6:30am to 4:30pm. No evenings, weekends, or holidays required. Responsibilities include back and front office duties, travel to satellite offices when needed, and providing excellent patient care. Previous Medical Assistant experience is preferred. Free onsite parking available.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
  2. Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, complete forms, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and manage patient charts.
  3. Prepare exam rooms, set up instruments, clean and maintain equipment, and manage supplies.
  4. Organize patient flow, assist patients with procedures, collect vitals, and relay instructions.
  5. Answer calls, provide patient education, and perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and other clinic procedures.
  6. Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and maintain confidentiality.
  7. Assist physicians with procedures and administer medications/vaccines under supervision.
