Job summary

UNLV Health is seeking a Medical Assistant Lead for multiple Las Vegas locations. The role supports providers, supervises MAs, and helps ensure high-quality patient care within a fast-paced clinic environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, graduation from a recognized MA program, a national MA certification/registration, and CPR. EPIC experience is preferred; clinic hours are typically 8am–5pm, Monday through Friday.

• Knowledge of current medical assistant best practices including EKG and basic drugs.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with patient management software; EPIC preferred.
• Effective communication with patients and team members.
• Ability to read and interpret safety and operating manuals.
• Attention to detail and safety awareness.

Salary Range: $20.50 To $24.50 Hourly

The Medical Assistant (MA) Lead ensures the provision of high quality patient care, assists in daily problem solving, and in the supervision and development of Medical Assistants (MAs). The MA Lead ensures Medical Providers receive sufficient support and assistance.

Educational Requirements

• Knowledge of current medical assistant best practices and procedures including EKG and basic drugs


• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment


• Working knowledge of patient management software and basic Microsoft office products. EPIC Preferred


• Ability to identify and apply proper communication methods in patient instruction


• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions


• Ability to interpret and read documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals


• Strong verbal and written communication skills


• Excellent telephone and customer service skills


• Skills to implement good safety practices that prevent exposure to known workplace hazards and the necessary action needed when exposed


• Skill in applying and modifying principles, methods and techniques of a medical assistant to provide ongoing patient care
