Job summary

Low Country Cancer Care, part of American Oncology Network, Inc., seeks a Medical Assistant with phlebotomy and lab testing experience. You will assist physicians, perform quality control, and handle specimen processing in a fast-paced, multi-site oncology setting.

The role requires at least one year of clinic experience, BLS, and a valid driver’s license; travel to other clinics may be required. On-site hours are typically Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED.
• Certifications: BLS required; Valid Driver’s License and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed.
• One-year experience as a medical assistant in clinic or physician’s office with venipuncture.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control procedures before patient testing.
• Perform laboratory blood work.
• Draw blood and handle specimens per procedures; perform technical lab procedures with accuracy.
• Prepare slides for evaluation and process specimens.
• Coordinate outside lab testing as needed.
• Maintain logs and records per regulatory agencies.
• Document in EMR and prepare encounter forms for charges.
• Assist physicians with medical procedures and patient examinations.
• Schedule outside testing and referrals as ordered by physicians.
