Responsibilities
Job SummaryThe Medical Assistant supports front and back office operations, escorts patients, maintains exam rooms, and provides quality phone service. They assist with patient documentation, medical records, and perform duties under the supervision of a Provider. The role involves clerical tasks, patient care, and team collaboration to enhance patient experience.
Essential Functions- Prepare treatment rooms, assist with exams and procedures, and document patient information.
- Perform diagnostic tests, injections, phlebotomy, and office procedures as directed.
- Handle patient and pharmacy calls, and manage front office duties like scheduling and chart maintenance.
- Coordinate with insurance for authorizations and referrals, and support case management as needed.
Education- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program - Required
- High School Diploma or GED - Required
Experience- 6 months experience as a Medical Assistant - Preferred
Licenses and Certifications- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
- Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training or certification exam - Required
- Fingerprint Clearance Card - Required (or within 7 days of employment for Pediatric Behavioral Health Sites)
- Medical Assistant Certification (e.g., CMA, CCMA, RMA) - Preferred, with reimbursement for exam costs
