First Urology is seeking a Medical Assistant – InterStim Coordinator in Jeffersonville, IN. The role focuses on coordinating patient care, preparing charts for OAB/InterStim/Altaviva, scheduling communications, and supporting InterStim-related procedures in a busy clinical setting.

You will work Monday–Friday during day shifts, report to the Area Manager, and be part of a team recognized for excellence and growth. Strong EMR skills and medical knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have medical terminology knowledge.
• Vital signs monitoring experience required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Experience using an EMR system required.

Responsibilities

• Take medical history.
• Explain treatment procedures to patients.
• Prepare daily charts for OAB/InterStim/Altaviva patients.
• Complete Altaviva worksheets.
• Assist clinical team during examinations.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
• Perform basic laboratory tests and diagnostics.
• Assist with InterStim lead-removal procedures as directed.
• Prepare and administer medications including injections and vaccines.

Position Summary:

The Medical Assistant - InterStim Coordinator is responsible for coordinating patient care, preparing charts, completing OAB/InterStim/Altaviva documentation, managing scheduling communications, assisting with InterStim-related procedures(Lead Pulls) , and ensuring that necessary information is gathered and documented for providers and clinical staff.

Responsibilities

• Taking medical history
• Explaining treatment procedures to patients
• Prepare daily charts for OAB, InterStim, and Altaviva patients
• Completing the Altaviva worksheets.
• Assisting the clinical team during examinations
• Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
• Performing basic laboratory tests and diagnostics
• Assist with and perform assigned InterStim lead-removal duties according to office protocol and provider direction.
• Preparing and administering medications, including by intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections—including vaccinations/immunizations, as directed by a physician or other licensed provider (e.g., a nurse, nurse practitioner or physician assistant)
• Answering telephones
• Updating and filing patient medical records
• Scheduling appointments
• Handling different types of correspondence

Qualifications

• Medical Terminology (required)
• Vital Signs (Required)
• Current BLS Certification (Required)
• Experience utilizing an EMR system (required)
• One or more years of experience in an outpatient clinical or medical practice (preferred)
• Experience Collecting lab Specimens (preferred)
• Internship or Externship as a Medical Student (Preferred)
• Current Certification from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or (RMA) Certification, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) (preferred)

Education and Certifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required); associate degree or higher a plus.
